Balance the Budget

Washington has a spending problem. We need leaders who will make tough choices to balance our federal budget and stop passing debt to our children.

Demand a balanced budget amendment
We now owe $109,000 per person in debt.
We must reinstitute the Deficit Reduction Act
Protect Social Security and Medicare through responsible reform

Affordability

Families in our District are stretched thin. From groceries to gas to insurance, the cost of living keeps climbing while wages stagnate. That has to change.

Reinstate health care subsidies
Wall Street at record highs while Main Street struggles
Support small business growth and local jobs
Raise the historically low taxes on corporations and the uber wealthy

We can disagree without being disagreeable. Our District deserves a representative who listens to all constituents, and who is actually from District 6!

Meet Steve Morgan

Steve Morgan is not a career politician. He's an entrepreneur, a brewer, and a problem solver who believes District 6 deserves better representation.

A graduate of Duke University, the Anderson School at UCLA, and the University of Tennessee College of Law, Steve has spent his career building businesses, creating jobs, and investing in the communities he calls home. He founded Alcatraz Brewing Company, bringing people together over craft beer and good conversation.

As a fiscally conservative Democrat, Steve believes in balanced budgets, personal responsibility, and treating people with respect regardless of party. He's running because he's tired of watching politicians play games while working families struggle.

Steve actually lives in the district. He runs a brewery, plays water polo and swims, and knows the challenges facing District 6 families firsthand.

The Brewery & The Swim

Steve founded Alcatraz Brewing Company in Palm Coast in 2018 to make bold examples of classic American craft beer. Named after the legendary island, Steve was inspired by the Alcatraz Swim that he competes in annually without a wetsuit. Alcatraz Brewing is a sponsor of San Francisco Baykeeper and has worked with Florida Waterkeeper groups to protect our coastal waters.

Alcatraz Brewing currently offers a 2X IPA, a Double Cold Brew, and a Hazy IPA. We are fortunate to be featured in many of the best accounts in Florida including every Total Wine, select Publix, Universal Studios, several locations at Disney, and select ABC stores. We can also be found extensively throughout District 6 at places like the Golden Lion, Captains BBQ, Brass Tap, all Half Wall locations, the Fish House at Lake Eustis, the World's Most Famous Brewery in Daytona, Flagler Beachfront Winery, Houligans Ormond Beach, Miller's Ale House, and many others.

The Alcatraz Swim

Steve doesn't just talk about taking on challenges - he swims through them. Literally. He was recognized in 2025 as the only person to have completed the legendary Alcatraz Sharkfest Swim for 21 consecutive years. And he swims it without a wetsuit! The swim is a 1.5-mile open water challenge from Alcatraz Island to the San Francisco shore through frigid shark-infested waters and brutal currents. The same grit and determination that carries him through those waters will carry him to Congress.
